The Lebanese Army Friday announced the arrest of five individuals suspected of belonging to Daesh (ISIS).

Three suspects were arrested in north Lebanon and two in the Bekaa Valley by the Army Intelligence.

A statement by the army said that four of the suspects were allegedly affiliated to Daesh, and had contact with the group's commanders.

The fifth suspect was suspected of smuggling logistics equipment to Daesh.

The Lebanese Army and security forces have been cracking down on sleeper cells as part of a comprehensive security plan.
