The Lebanese Army issued a statement on Tuesday confirming that heinous blast which shook Tayyouneh region at 23:40 was caused by a suicide bomber who was riding a white Mercedes rigged with 25 KGs of TNT. The suicide bomber blew himself up near an army checkpoint in Tayyouneh, a thing which left security officer, Abdel Karim Hodroj, dead and 20 others wounded, as well as huge damage in property. The Lebanese Army duly cordoned off the area for investigations in the presence of the military police.
