On 17 Oct 16, the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) raided a number of Syrian refugee encampments and residence places in the outskirts of the Aakkar towns of al-Sheikh Mohammed, Halba and Tal Abbas. Thirty Syrians were arrested in the raids on charges of failure to present legal identification and residency papers. They were referred to the relevant judicial authorities. A number of unlicensed motorcycles were also seized in the crackdown.
