On 19 Feb 15, an Internal Security Forces officer was injured and a suspect killed during a raid in the northern city of Tripoli. ISF Intelligence Branch Maj. Nazih Saleh was wounded when Wael Kamel Youssef, who is wanted on several arrest warrants, tossed a grenade in al-Beddawi area at dawn. Intelligence officers apprehended Youssef who was also wounded in the raid. But the suspect, also known as Abou al-Madaress, later succumbed to his injuries.

A security source said Youssef’s relatives fired their weapons and threw a grenade at a Lebanese Army patrol in the Jabal Badawi-Mankoubeen area when Abu al-Madariss’ body arrived in the town. No casualties were reported from the early afternoon attack.
