The Internal Security Forces announced the arrest of five people on drug-related charges in Mansourieh in Metn.

The first suspect, identified as Syrian national Aa.H., born in 1998, was arrested on Jan. 30 after drug enforcement officers received a tip that the suspect was in a Hyundai vehicle in the area. The suspect was wounded during the arrest in the left foot. The ISF head of the patrol fired several shots at the car when the suspect tried to run over ISF personnel and escape.

A large amount of drugs were found in the car, divvied up as if ready for sale.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment.
