NNA - The Internal Security Forces' (ISF) Directorate General issued the following statement on Friday:

"The Information Branch of the ISF followed up on a phone call from a girl held captive and forced into sex work, and was able to apprehend in Khaldeh a Syrian national born 1975 named S.S. and liberate the two Syrian girls he held against their will for almost a month. One of the girls was the one who contacted the ISF.

Intensive investigations revealed that the culprit lured the girls by promising them a career in the music industry. However, by the time the girls arrived in Khaldeh on 12-03-2016, the man confiscated their passports and held them inside an apartment, forcing them to perform sexual acts with various people for money that he collected.

The ISF also discovered that the Syrian criminal was wanted for drug related charges. He was then referred to the counter human trafficking office for further investigations.
