On 08 Nov 16, the Internal Security Forces freed a 5-year-old girl who was being falsely imprisoned by her father after a two-hour standoff. The father, identified as G. Faitrouni, had been holding the girl, Melissa, against her will in their home in the Hai Al-Shaiqan neighborhood in Baalbeck. ISF and LAF units surrounded the house while local figures negotiated with the father who was threatening to kill the girl. The allegedly life-threatening situation ended when he conceded and handed over his daughter. The man had been abusing prescription drugs after his divorce.
