A 38-year-old man suspected of smuggling merchandise into Lebanon was arrested, ISF announced Tuesday, 18 Oct 16. A statement by the Internal Security Forces said the man, identified only by his initials H.H., was accused of fraud for allegedly using fake identification documents to open bank accounts and establish dummy companies to illegally bring goods into the country. The ISF from the city of Zahle had detained the suspect in Chtoura Friday, 14 Oct 16. The ISF seized six fraudulent IDs and a number of forged checks on his person. The man allegedly confessed to the charges during questioning.
