On 16 July 16, the ISF (Internal Security Forces) announced the arrest of a Syrian national accused of deceiving Syrian refugees identified by the initials A.Aa., in the Bekaa Valley town of Al-Marj for fraud and extortion.He confessed to fooling Syrian refugees in Lebanon into believing that he was able to secure visas so they can seek asylum abroad. The money, which was obtained from the refugees, was spent on several companies he owned, the statement added. Police said he was able to make around $700,000 from the fraudulent activities.
