أعلنت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي أنه "بتاريخ 19/05/2018 وفي محلة المحمرة وداخل منزل ذويه، أطلق المدعو: أ. ع. (مواليد عام 1989، لبناني) النار من سلاح صيد على شقيقته المدعوة: خ. (مواليد 1987) فارداها على الفور، وفر إلى جهة مجهولة، وقد تبين أن أسباب الجريمة عائلية".

ولفتت المديرية إلى أنه "بتاريخ 10/12/2018 تمكنت دورية من مفرزة استقصاء الشمال في وحدة الدرك الإقليمي من توقيفه في محلة المحمرة، وقد تبين انه مطلوب للقضاء بموجب مذكرة توقيف غيابيّة بجرم القتل
