A suspected member of a robbery gang was arrested earlier this week, a statement from the Internal Security Forces reported Saturday.

After a spike in robberies targeting Online Money Transfer (OMT) shops in Mount Lebanon, the ISF arrested a Palestinian national on Feb. 26.

The suspect, identified as Aa.H., born in 1985 in the town of Barja, was found with hashish and cocaine on his person.

During his interrogation, he reportedly confessed to taking part in OMT robberies in Choueifat, Aramoun, and Barja, among other areas, utilizing military-grade weapons and stolen cars alongside two Lebanese men.

These accomplices were later arrested and identified as M.A., born in 1976, and Aa.K., born in 1994. Both men admitted to their involvement in the robberies.

The investigation is ongoing, and the ISF is still searching for other gang members.

This security incident was mapped according to the closest possible location.
