ISF arrests Hyundai thief in Mazraa

 The Internal Security Forces Wednesday announced the arrest of four men suspected of being involved in car thefts over the past month, an ISF statement reported.

The suspects were identified as Syrian national Aa.a., born in 1998, Lebanese national M.T., born in 1986, Lebanese national M.M., born in 1989 and a former ISF lance corporal identified as M.Aa., born in 1990.

The suspects reportedly stole cars from Beirut and Mount Lebanon, most recently stealing a Hyundai Tuscon from Baabda’s Hazmieh district on March 12. The car was later found in Aqoura in Jbeil.

The ISF said it arrested Aa.a on March 15 in Beirut’s Mazraa area, and that a quantity of drugs were seized on his person.During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to forming a gang to steal cars. They admitted to stealing eight Hyundai Tuscon vehicles.

Investigations have been ongoing, and the car M.Aa had been driving at the time of his arrest was handed back to its owner, ISF said.
