The Internal Security Forces in Mount Lebanon arrested a Syrian couple for allegedly selling smuggled and counterfeit tobacco and flavored shisha tobacco, a statement from the ISF reported.

The ISF said it was tipped off that some shops in Dohat Aramoun were selling smuggled and counterfeit tobacco and flavored shisha tobacco used for the argileh.

After an investigation, the ISF reportedly raided three stores in the area on Dec. 27 and found the smuggled goods. They arrested a Syrian couple, identified as A.Aa., born in 1978, and his wife F.Aa., born in 1990, for possessing smuggled and counterfeit tobacco, which has since been seized. The couple has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
