The Internal Security Forces arrested two suspects in Tayyouneh who allegedly asked a Lebanese national to exchange currency, but then stole his money and drove off, according to a statement from the agency Friday.
The suspects, identified as S.K., born in 1969, and S.M., born in 1989, both of whom are Iranian nationals, were driving a black Nissan without a license plate last week when they stopped to ask S.J. to exchange their money for Lebanese liras.
Instead, the two took LL300,000 ($200) that he showed them and sped off, the agency said.
The ISF is asking others who may have been conned by the suspects to come forward to take legal action.
