The Internal Security Forces arrested of the leader of a car theft ring.
 
The suspect, identified as Lebanese A.A. born in 1974, was arrested on Oct. 13 by the ISF’s Information Branch after members of the same gang, who had previously been arrested,pointed to the suspect as their leader.
 
A.A. was arrested in Al-Sharawneh, Baalbeck, while in possession of a 9 mm pistol, a stolen motorbike, a ski mask, gloves and a multitool pocket knife, used for car theft.
 
During the investigation, the suspect allegedly admitted to stealing several types of cars including a Toyota FJ cruiser, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV from various areas in Mount Lebanon and Beirut.
 
He also reportedly confessed to planning to carry out an armed robbery at a bank in Dora while the money was being transported to or from the location.
