On 28 Jan 17, the Internal Security Forces in Beirut arrested two motorbike thieves after a brief pursuit. Security forces in the Bir Hasan district of Beirut responded to a call saying that there were two motorized men who were trying to steal another motorbike in the area. They apprehended one of the suspects. A 38-year-old Lebanese national identified by his initials as M.D. was detained, while his accomplice managed to escape before being caught later in the neighboring Jnah district of Beirut's southern suburb. Both motorbikes were impounded. The two suspects are currently under investigation.
