Local residents faced off with the Internal Security Forces, requesting that the security personnel side with residents against the project.
Many protested, citing health concerns around the placement of high-voltage cabling near residential areas.

MP Ibrahim Kanaan met with residents from Mansourieh and Ain Saadeh on the evening to listen to their concerns and announced the two parties came up with an agreement : they halted the work on the power lines temporarily as they were waiting for an agreement on the next steps.
