BEIRUT: Police arrested a man suspected of being behind a hit-and-run incident in a Beirut southern suburb, a security source told The Daily Star. A Lebanese citizen identified as Ali Nazha was driving at full speed after stealing his own pickup truck from an impound lot in the town of Mreijeh when he ran over 83-year-old Fawaz Mohammad al-Ali. Ali was immediately rushed to the St. Georges Hospital but died upon arrival in the emergency room. Nazha’s identity was immediately made public by the ISF, resulting in his arrest at a checkpoint on the nearby airport road. He is currently being questioned.
