Hezbollah-affiliated media reported Tuesday its fighters killed a top ISIS "judge" in the Qalamoun region along the Lebanese-Syrian border, with the Lebanese army later saying it killed four ISIS militants in a separate attack.
Al-Manar TV and Hezbollah’s War Media Center said that Abu Abdullah Amer, head of ISIS's Sharia court in the region, was targeted in a road-side bomb planted by Hezbollah fighters.
The reports added that the attack took place while Amer was touring various ISIS military posts in the mountainous region.
A second bomb targeted ISIS militants as they tried to retrieve Amer's body, according to the reports. The second attack was followed by heavy artillery from Hezbollah, resulting in casualties among those militants.
