Gunfire broke out Friday evening in the Barbir area of Beirut after Future Movement supporters asked a candidate running against them to leave the area.
Local channel LBCI reported that Raja al-Zouheiry of the "Beirut's Dignity" list was campaigning near "Hay al-Arab" when the Future supporters asked him to leave, leading to a dispute and armed clashes. The Lebanese Army intervened and Zouheiry was escorted out of the area where he was giving a speech at a local resident's home.
Zouheiry is running for the Druze seat in Beirut II.
In the video from the media outlet, the Army can be seen entering the area and gunfire is heard.
