After a lawsuit (number 72/2015) filed by Insan Association to Judge of Summary Affairs Jad Maalouf against the Lebanese state, the Ministry of Interior and General Security, demanding the release of Renuka Irangani, and following Judge Maalouf's ruling to freeze the deportation order, General Security released Renuka and her husband, Jagdish Kumar, on April 22 at 12:40 a.m. The family was requested to visit General Security on May 15, 2015 to follow up on the issue of their residency permits. Insan was represented by lawyer Zeina Chacar in this case.
Renuka and her husband's release is a positive step that must be supplemented with the renewal of their residence permits on May 15.
