وطنية - صدر عن المديرية العامة للأمن العام البيان الآتي: "في إطار متابعة ورصد نشاطات الشبكات الارهابية والخلايا النائمة التابعة لها، وبعد عملية رصد دقيقة، أوقفت المديرية العامة للامن العام بناء لإشارة النيابة العامة المختصة المدعو (ش.ج) من الجنسية السورية لانتمائه الى تنظيم ارهابي.

وبنتيجة التحقيق معه، اعترف بانتمائه الى تنظيم داعش الارهابي من خلال السوري (م.أ) الملقب الوحش احد الامراء الشرعيين للتنظيم المذكور في منطقة القلمون وجرود عرسال، وأنه أقدم شخصيا على ذبح الجندي الشهيد عباس مدلج، وقام بتنفيذ عملية اغتيال المؤهل أول في فرع المعلومات في قوى الامن الداخلي الشهيد زاهر عز الدين، كما اعترف بمشاركته على رأس مجموعة مسلحة بالهجوم على مراكز الجيش اللبناني في محيط جرود عرسال بتاريخ 02/08/2014 وقتل وخطف عسكريين وشارك مع آخرين باستهداف دورية للجيش اللبناني بتاريخ 06/11/2015 بواسطة عبوة ناسفة، وأنه كان مؤخرا بصدد المشاركة برصد حواجز الجيش اللبناني في بلدة عرسال، تمهيدا لمهاجمتها بهدف اختطاف عسكريين.

وبعد انتهاء التحقيق معه، أحيل على القضاء المختص، والعمل جار لتوقيف بقية الأشخاص المتورطين".
