Four men have been arrested by the Internal Security Forces on suspicion of carrying out over 10 robberies in various Mount Lebanon areas, according to a statement from the agency released late Saturday.
The suspects were identified as: Lebanese national J.F., born in 1977, with an existing warrant out for his arrest; Lebanese national Sh.Aa., born in 1983; and Syrian nationals J.A. and M.K., born in 1999 and 1987 respectively.
They were arrested in consecutive operations on May 30 in Ain al-Rummaneh and Wata al-Moseitbeh.
The ISF’s Information Branch made the arrests after an increase in night robberies in different areas in Mount Lebanon, the targets of which included shops and pharmacies.
The suspects were then referred to the judiciary.
“During investigations with [the suspects], they confessed to carrying out more than 10 robberies in Ballouneh, Rayfoun, Broummana, Amchit, Zouk Mosbeh, Bhaness, Ghadir, Hadath, Lehfed and Obeidat,” the statement said, adding that they had stolen money and cellphones that they then sold in Sabra.
