Permanent Military Tribunal head Brig. Gen. Pierre Saab ruled that a former Lebanese Army soldier who blackmailed a woman would be detained for 35 days, the state-run National News Agency reported.
The suspect, identified as M.N., reportedly blackmailed his victim by threatening to send pictures of her without a veil and dressed in “beachwear” to her brothers, unless she paid him $1000 and gave him gold coins.
The suspect was questioned Thursday by Judge Hani Helmi al-Hajjar – a representative of the public prosecutor – and the defendant’s legal representative.
The court sentenced the suspect to time served, due to the time he had spent detained following his arrest two years ago, NNA reported.
This security incident was mapped according to the closest possible location.
