Dozens of fishermen held a protest in Burj Hammoud on evening to complain about garbage being thrown into the sea after a truck unloaded waste at the area’s infamous garbage dump.

Sabaa MP Paula Yacoubian also attended the protest and said the fishermen have her “good support.”

Although AFP reported that protesters attempted to block the roads to the truck to prevent it from unloading, Yacoubian told The Daily Star the truck was not impeded after she instructed the nearly 60 protesters present against the move.
