Family dispute in Halba
The Internal Security Forces arrested two Lebanese men over their alleged involvement in the shooting of a man in the northern Lebanon district of Akkar, the ISF reported in a statement Monday.
According to the statement, 20-year-old H.K. was brought to a hospital in the Akkar town of Halba Monday, Aug. 13, after being shot in the chest during a “family dispute” in nearby Abdeh.
H.K. had been involved in a family dispute, the ISF said, during which time another dispute arose between his brother-in-law, a Jordanian national identified as B.G., and a man identified as Aa.B.
Aa.B. then went with a group, which included a man identified as A.B., to a house where H.K. and B.G. were residing. A.B. then shot at the house with a rifle, killing H.K.
Aa.B., one of the suspects arrested by the ISF, confessed to attacking B.G for insulting his mother and wife, while B.G. was “clearly” under the influence of alcohol, the ISF said.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the ISF.
