On 20 Dec 16, Contract employees at a thermal power station south of Beirut demonstrated in front of the administrative headquarters to protest delays in their salaries. The strikers also demanded that they be hired as full time employees at EDL. Following the demonstration, the workers met with the manager of the Jiyyeh power station.
