On 13 Aug 16, Internal Security Forces reported that they arrested a man in Beirut's southern suburb, on charges of smuggling narcotics. The ISF obtained information stating that two people were smuggling narcotics in Tahwitat al-Ghadir in Beirut's southern suburb. An exchange of fire erupted when one of the suspects opened gunfire from his pistol at police members when the latter ordered them to stop. However, police managed to arrest one of the suspects while another managed to flee to an unknown destination.
