A small number of protesters gathered Sunday near the Ministry of Interior in Beirut to protest the surging murder rate in Lebanon and the state's failure to protect citizens.The rally is to shed light on the security and judicial authorities’ failure to protect citizens from crimes," George Azar told protesters, citing the brutal murder of George Reef. He criticized the security agencies’ failure to "swiftly responding" to emergency calls.Demonstrators also said that the "general atmosphere in Lebanon indicates insecurity.The rally was organized by the People's Movement and titled: "To Refuse Death and Survive with Dignity.
