The General Directorate of Customs announced the seizure of a quantity of 12.5 kg of gold at Rafik Hariri International Airport.
According to the communiqué issued by said management, in the framework of the fight against trafficking, its agents seized, on 30-4-2017, 12.5kg of gold in possession of a traveler holding an Armenian passport and coming from Istanbul. The man in question wrapped the gold around his body in a professional manner.
An investigation launched into the attempted trafficking, while the jewelry was seized pending legal proceedings.
