On 27 July 15, at the Jiyeh Highway, clashes erupted between protestors (Who blocked the road in both directions) and Security Forces when police tried to force demonstrators to open the road. Anti-riot police used water hoses to disperse the crowd that hurled security forces with rocks. Three (3) demonstrators and four (4) policemen were injured. The road was reopened around noon following efforts by Nouhad al-Mashnouq (Interior Minister) to appease the protesters.
