A clash took place Sunday between young men from the town of Btedei and 3 men from Al Jaafar family, in wake of accusing the latter of attacking a vehicle on Iaat - Deir Ahmar Highway driven by young men from the town of Shlifa, NNA correspondent in Baalbek reported.

As a result, Army units intervened immediately setting-up roadblocks along Btedei, Deir Ahmar and Shlifa.

Ahmed Sobhi Jaafar, a prominent member of Al Jaafar, denounced the attack and asserted that the family had nothing to do with it.

Baalbek and Deir Ahmar Maronite Bishop, Semaan Atallah, also considered that "there are certain people seeking to create discord and revive instincts, which is not acceptable," stressing that "the State is the one to put an end to such attempts."
