A child was sexually assaulted as a school in the northern region of Akkar, reported the National News Agency on Monday.

It said that the father of a three-and-a-half-year-old child filed a complaint at the al-Arida police station saying that he was sexually abused at the Talmaan public school.

Investigations are underway in the incident and the doctor is examining the child, Nabil.

In February, media reports said that a nine-year-old boy was raped at the al-Merehbi School in al-Dreib al-Awsat in Akkar.

Nearly three years ago, Judge Elie Helou issued a verdict in the case of a teacher who was accused of sexually abusing 11 children at St. Joseph School in Aintoura, Northern Metn.

The scandal erupted when reportedly a six-year-old girl at St. Joseph School told her parents about the abuse.
