State Security arrested a Captagon promoter in east Lebanon who had conducted his trade in collaboration with a group of persons.
The suspected promoter, a Syrian national, was arrested with dozens of bags of Captagon pills in his possession. The pills were reportedly ready to be sold.
Under interrogation, the suspect admitted he had been promoting Captagon using a network of agents including a Syrian mediator known as "Al-Aswad."
The statement added that he had been provided with illegal narcotics by other traders, including a Lebanese national who is now being sought.
The promoter and the mediator were referred to the public prosecutor in the Bekaa.
