The World Cup rivalry between Brazil and Germany has continued to captivate Lebanese football fans, but turned violent Saturday night with number of fights breaking out in the northern part of the country.
Brawls broke out between groups of young men in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh and Bab al-Hadid neighborhoods, after Germany’s nighttime victory over Sweden, according to local TV channel LBCI. One of the fights left one man injured with a knife wound to his back, according to the report.
