وقع إشكالا في مدينة الشويفات، تطور إلى اشتباك بالأسلحة الرشاشة بين عناصر من حزبين في المدينة.

وعلى الفور، تواصل "الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي" مع قيادة الجيش والأجهزة الأمنية، لضبط الوضع وإعادة الهدوء إلى المنطقة. وعمل مسؤولون في الحزب وفي "الحزب الديمقراطي اللبناني"، على تطويق الحادث والحؤول دون تطوره. وتكاملت هذه المساعي مع حضور قوة من الجيش وعناصر من الأجهزة الأمنية، حيث تم قطع الطريق في مكان الاشتباك، والعمل على تهدئة الوضع.

ولا تزال القوى الحزبية المعنية تعمل على معالجة مفاعيل ما جرى.
