On 28 September 2017, a blast rocked the bordering village of Akkar's Haisheh near a Syrian refugee camp in Wadi Khaled region at 1:30 a.m.

The mortar was launched from Syria and landed on the house of Lebanese national Fawaz al-Ahmad, wounding Syrian national Sayer Dawood al-Khalaf, in addition to causing material damage.

The explosion left one injured, but the Lebanese Red Cross immediately treated his light injuries.
