The army arrested on Saturday two Lebanese nationals after an attempt to assault the customs chief at the Rafic Hariri International Airport, the state-run National News Agency reported. Several individuals including, Tarek Hisham al-Sabeaa and another man from the same family, intruded into the office of the customs chief at the airport Samer Diaa and tried to assault him, NNA said. It added that the police airport had seized smuggled merchandise that the persecutors were trying to exchange for shoe insoles. The army arrested the two of the men while the rest managed to escape. The merchandise was confiscated.
