A policeman was arrested at the Dahr al-Baidar checkpoint in east Lebanon for possession of cocaine and cannabis, a security source said Tuesday.
The source told The Daily Star that Sgt. Khodor Zaidan, who hails from the Bekaa Valley town of Al-Ain, was arrested Monday after police found 2 kilograms of cocaine and 4 kilograms of cannabis on him. His wife was also apprehended for attempting to conceal Zaidan’s smuggling activity from the Bekaa Valley to Beirut, the source said.
