On 11 Sep 16, a Syrian National was kidnapped and assaulted after he was taken from his house in Karak-Zahle in Bekaa. At 1530hrs, an unidentified man driving a BMW X5 Jeep tricked the abductee into entering his vehicle by offering him a construction job. The man was taken to a rural area in on the road to Rayak and ambushed by 10 armed men. He was severely beaten and robbed. The kidnappers also forced him to contact his relatives and ask for a $6,000 ransom. At 2000hrs, he was transported in the trunk of a Black Mercedes and released near the AUST University in Zahle.
