BEIRUT: Gunmen stole around $5,300 from two Syrian nationals in north Lebanon, state media reported.

The National News Agency said that 51-year-old Yaacoub al-Sadabashi and 57-year-old Mohammad Mohammad were intercepted by four men driving a Mercedes Benz car in the northern district of Akkar overnight Saturday.

The two Syrians claimed that the four suspects had stolen $5,000 and SYP 80,000 ($373) in cash from them at gunpoint.
