On 06 Feb 15, police arrested a supporter of fugitive Salafist cleric Sheikh Ahmed al-Asir in the southern coastal city of Saida. Security forces found on his phone slogans and photos supporting the extremist Islamic State group. The suspect's brothers are allegedly in custody on the same charges of belonging to al-Asir's group that engaged in heavy clashes with the Lebanese army in Saida in 2013.
