Army Command- Guidance Directorate issued a communiqué on Thursday in which they mentioned that last night while an Army patrol was pursuing the wanted Ahmad Mohammad Selim Jaafar on Dar Waasiaa - Al Yammouni road he opened fire at the servicemen who fired back at him and injured him.
The communiqué added that Jaafar was then arrested and transferred to a hospital in the region.
The servicemen confiscated inside the Grand Cherokee Jeep which Jaafar was driving a kalashnikov and ammunition as well an amount of Hashish.

The car and the confiscated material were handed to concerned authorities and an investigation was opened.

Jaafar has been wanted upon many warrants including opening fire at an Army patrol in 2012 and wounding two soldiers, the communiqué said.
