UNIFIL Command issued a statement saying that the UNIFIL in coordination with the Lebanese Army deployed their units in Kfarkila, in the region falling on the north of the blue line.

UNIFIL announced that it received information from the Israeli forces saying that an Israeli soldier got wounded by a fire shot of weak weapon whose source was the surrounding of Kfarkila in the Lebanese side. UNIFIL said that the Israeli forces reacted to the fire shooting.
Accordingly, head of UNIFIL Commission, Michel Beary, contacted directly both sides to help resolve the matter, urging them to exercize the maximum extent of self-control.

Later, the Lebanese army denied, in comments made to the National News Agency, that gunfire had been opened at an Israeli soldier along the southern borders, as Israeli media outlets claimed.
