Army restores calm to north Lebanon’s Dinnieh outskirts after scuffle
The Lebanese Army restored calm to the outskirts of north Lebanon’s Dinnieh after a scuffle raged between two families, state media reported.
The dispute, which flared up due to a previous feud between the Ghareeb and Faris families, broke out between members of the families in the village of Dabaal, before the Army interfered and contained the quarrel, the state-run National News Agency said.
The Army also set up checkpoints and deployed patrols around the town, in addition to reopening the road between Dabaal and the neighboring town of Huwwarah, which members of the two rival families had blocked for hours, according to NNA.
Dignitaries from the town and surrounding villages are currently seeking to de-escalate tensions between the two families.
