NNA - An officer was wounded yesterday (Friday) evening in Hourtaala when an Army patrol interfered to end a clash which broke out among persons of Al-Masri family over previous family disagreements, a communiqué issued by Army Command - Guidance Directorate said on Saturday.

The communiqué added that the clash intensified and weapons were used, so an Army patrol interfered to impose security and stability but the armed persons opened fire at them and lightly injured an officer.

The Army members shot back and carried out raids during which they detained three of the aggressors and confiscated an amount of light and medium weapons, ammunition and military equipment.

Calm was restored in the village and an Army force continues to pursue the culprits to arrest them and refer them to the concerned authorities, the communiqué said.
