Army detains 22 Syrians over illegally entering Lebanese territories, fire exchange occurs

NNA - A patrol from the Lebanese Army detained 22 Syrians at Swairi region in West Bekaa while trying to enter the Lebanese territories illegally accompanied by the Lebanese Jawad Khalil Janbey and the Syrian Mahmoud Riad Abou Bakr who were trying to smuggle them into Lebanon, a communiqué issued by the Amy Command- the Guidance Directorate said on Saturday.

The communiqué added that armed persons fired at the Army patrol while carrying out its mission so they fired back; however, there were no casualties.

Army members are still following the shooters while the detainees were referred to the concerned authorities.
