Army Special Forces carried out the operation to find Ali Abdel-Nabi Ali al-Bishrawi, who was reported missing and believed to have been kidnapped in the Oqaibeh area of Kesrouan. They were also working to arrest suspects tied to the kidnapping.  
 
There was an "intense" exchange of fire between the gunmen - using machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades - and Army forces before several of the gunmen were arrested and transferred to the judiciary.  
 
The intelligence officers and the Internal Security Forces Information Division were also involved in the operation.  
 
The Army arrested 19 people in total during the raid and seized six cars. A large quantity of narcotics, a number of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment were seized during the raid.  
 
The operation was carried out with the aim of gaining information on the whereabouts of Bishrawi, as well as to make arrests, retrieve stolen cars and follow up on other crimes.
