Lebanese Army Intelligence carried out a large-scale drug raid Saturday in the northeastern town of Hermel, the state-run National News Agency reported. Lebanese suspect M.K.N. and a Syrian suspect with no identity documents were both arrested in the raid. The Army seized “a quantity of drugs,” as well as the Jeep Cherokee vehicle the suspects were traveling in. The Army also arrested suspect Aa.H.Aa., seizing a quantity of hashish found in his car, in addition to Captagon pills, heroin and a sensitive scale. The suspects were transferred to a military base before being referred to the judiciary.
