Lebanese Army Intelligence arrested a suspect who had earlier in the day opened fire on the house of another man in the southern city of Sidon, a security source told The Daily Star.

The suspect, who was identified as Palestinian Mustapha A., was arrested while trying to enter the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp. The camp has become a haven for fugitives, including extremists, and Lebanese security forces customarily don’t enter.

Sources told The Daily Star that Lebanese Army soldiers had raided the suspect’s home in Sidon’s old city, seizing a military-grade pistol and a large sum of money.
